Garden
Croquet Balls are biaxially milled to make diamond patterned grooves
on their wooden surfaces. Rules require that balls be identical for
dimension and weight (within narrow limits). Croquet.Sport garden
balls are 3-5/8" diameter, weigh 12 ounces each, and are painted
in the first color set sequence of blue, red, black, and yellow. |

Tournament
Croquet Balls are required in championship events. These balls
are made from artificial materials in order to achieve the requisite
weight and challenge for the world's best players. Croquet.Sport
offers 16 ounce tournament quality premium balls in the first color
set. Tournament balls make the garden game more challenging. |

Garden
Mallets have two different mallet faces. Once face is grooved
and the other is smooth. Technically this is not permitted for official
play, but does allow the casual game some flexibility. Croquet.Sportgarden
mallets have 36" long handles with towel wrapped grips. |

Standard
Mallets are superior to garden mallets and are generally stockier
than tournament mallets. Croquet.Sport standard mallets have
38" long handles with perforated leather grips, inlaid sight
lines on the mallet heads (for aiming) and brass reinforcing bands
surrounding the concentrically grooved mallet faces. |

Tournament
Mallets from Croquet.Sport have lighter weight handles and
heavier heads than either the standard, garden or economy mallets
so that weight is concentrated in the mallet head. Rules permit personal
mallets to be brought to a game, just as tennis and golf players bring
rackets and clubs to their respective sports. Only one mallet, however,
may be used by a croquet player. The idea of a "set" of
mallets (unlike golf) has not yet made its way from the links. Croquet.Sport
leather gripped tournament mallets, have weighted square heads with
a composite face material and 38" long handles of tough multi-laminated
hardwood (32 lams per inch) |

Garden
Wickets are wider than either standard or tournament wickets.
Rules permit the distance between the insides of the uprights to vary
up to twice the diameter of the balls. Wicket width is the primary
factor that determines competition level. Garden wickets are fashioned
from 1/4" all-white powdercoated steel rod and measure 7"
between the uprights. Croquet.Sport garden wickets are ideal
for beginners. International rules call wickets, "hoops".

Standard
Wickets are fashioned from 7/16" powdercoated solid steel
rod. Croquet.Sport wickets are white except that one has a red
crown and another has a blue crown. These are important only for the
six wicket game. All standard wickets have black colored points to
show how deep to set them in the ground to hold the proper 12"
vertical clearance when firmly fixed. Croquet.Sport standard
wickets are 5-1/2" between the uprights. |

Tournament
Wickets provide greater challenge for advanced players. Championship
events require very narrow wickets, sometimes only 1/32" greater
than the ball diameter. Croquet.Sport tournament wickets measure
4" between the uprights and are not recommended for garden play. |

Tournament
Corner Flags are driven into the ground at each of the four boundard
line intersections defining the playing court. The bunting's color
sequence of blue, red, black, and yellow is important in the six wicket
game, but has no meaning in the nine wicket game. Croquet.Sport
tournament flag standards are tough 5/16" powdercoated solid
steel rod. |

Corner
Pegs (Set of 8) mark the ends of the four intersecting
boundary lines which establish the actual playing court for the nine
wicket game. In the six wicket game corner pegs create a rectangle
inside the playing court. Croquet.Sport corner pegs are color
matched in pairs to the corner flag colors. |
